by Tech Savvy Agent on January 11, 2010

in Google, Real Estate Technology, Social Media

We have been riding the Google Wave for a few weeks now and it sure is nice!  Trouble is that no one else has an invitation so we are doing a lot of Waving by ourselves. We are looking to send out 8 invites to our tech savvy real estate agents and want you to have a shot at one.  Simply leave a comment below with why you would like an invite and how you see Google Wave impacting the real estate industry in the weeks and months ahead.  The best comments will get a personal invite to Google Wave by Tech Savvy Agent!  Good Luck.

Google Wave appears to be the most amazing tool I have ever seen.  I am looking forward to trying it.

Julia Stander January 11, 2010 at 9:54 am

I would love to see how Google Wave is impacting the real estate industry! Sounds interesting!

I’m excited about this!

It always amazes me when a new piece of technology is unveiled.  This Google Wave seems to be as intuitive as any new program.  The ability to perform collective collaboration makes our jobs as Realtors super interesting.  The transformation of the single stream by multiple sources intrigues me.  Looking to start using it now that I’ve read up on it!

Dale Bates January 11, 2010 at 10:39 am

Combining all the social media sources into one manageable entity allows me to stay plugged in w/o taking up a lot (more than 15 minutes) of time. I can’t wait to fully implement this opportunity into my business, and yeah, it’s way cool!

Joanne Grunz January 11, 2010 at 10:50 am

Please invite me. I think Google Wave is amazing..what I know about it! I just did not know anyone to “invite” me.

Brian Smith January 11, 2010 at 10:53 am

This isn’t just about social media!  This is about changing the way we communicate with each other.  Gmail made the first step by grouping e-mails together like a conversation.  Google Wave seems to take this to the 100th level by making it live, similar to chat, but incorporating every type of media and interaction.  Allowing for groups to be a part of the conversation and bringing it all into one synchronized space.  Imagine doing a transaction where the communication is flawless between the buyers, buyers’ Agent, Listing Agent, the Sellers, Buyers’ Lender, Title Rep, Closer, Referring Agent, Inspector…  and all in a single 30-45 day conversation.  There may be private sub conversation between individual parties… open discussions about dates and deadlines… but all in a single line of communication.  Imagine backing that single conversation up for archiving… Simple. Or printing it out for hard copy records… Easy. Sending a document one time so that everyone who needs to see it, can.  Done. This is tomorrow’s wave of not just communicating, but interacting.  I’m ecstatic!

I saw this in action at a recent tech seminar I attended and it is awesome!  I’m addicted to Facebook but don’t use my twitter account that frequently.  I would love the opportunity to use Google Wave – it looks amazing, and a much simpler way to stay in contact without having to switch from one application to another.  Haven’t had anyone invite me – yet.

It looks like the creation of a better blackboard system. I used blackboard in college for interactive discussions if classes were cancelled or a group project needed to be completed. This is much better with adding different interactive media and sharing files.

Wow! Google Wave looks amazing.  As real estate gets more & more techy, I find myself doing many things by email, text & IM.  This would allow me to look at a report and go over it with my clients as they look at it.  It seems like we would be able to avoid a lot of misunderstanding by being able to review things together.  Hope I get my invite so I can try it!

Elaine Zimmerman January 11, 2010 at 11:34 am

Google Wave will have a great impact on real estate as our customers are very net savvy and look to the internet for real estate market knowledge. They will be able to ride the “Wave” to communicate effectively and find the most Tech Savvy agents to conduct business with immediately. The Google Wave is the technology we need to conduct business, and sell real estate worldwide!

Jesse Sehlmeyer January 11, 2010 at 11:39 am

Love the article. This will bring all of the key pices together for social media in our business.

Carol Griffin January 11, 2010 at 11:40 am

I’m looking forward to checking this out!  I don’t know much about it.. I’d like to.

alan endermann January 11, 2010 at 11:44 am

Would like to be one of your invitees.  I am very curious how I may be able to incorporate “Google Wave” into my on line and social media toolbox.  Frankly, I am a bit concerned that “the wave” may overtake Realtor.com and other franchise websites as the major real estate search site which begs an answer to the question, “where will that leave the agent?”.

Angie Grossman January 11, 2010 at 12:49 pm

Google Wave sounds interesting. I would like to check it out more.

Chris Durrant January 11, 2010 at 1:16 pm

One of my goals this year is to get as far into the lastest technology and social media as I can. I am pretty savvy but not as much as I need to be in order to be successful in Real Estate as it evolves online. I am in the process of finding a better website and changing my web address to something  more real estate related. I feel that Google is an essential compenent to real estate marketing and I would love to check out Google Wave and learn as much about it as I can. I would love to implement in for this year as part of my 2010 goals! Please share in invite with me, I will make GREAT use of it :)

Angela Hill January 11, 2010 at 2:07 pm

I belong to so many different sites and while time consuming I can’t afford not to do them as that’s where almost all of my new business comes from! Anything that could make that job easier or simplfy things is almost too good to be true! All of my marketing is internet based and I very seldom do anything other than that anymore. Can’t wait to try it.

Bashar January 11, 2010 at 2:29 pm

Damn – tried responding from my iPhone, kept stalling on the Comment box! Hope I can still make it into the 6 respondents. Would absolutely love to try this new feature for my real estate business. Google is always so ahead of the times, gotta love them!

Yvonne Peterson January 11, 2010 at 2:34 pm

I have always been a head of the curve. This sounds very interesting and can’t wait to use it.Yvonne

I m eager to jump on the tech band wagon to stay up to date and to also keep my clients up to date as well. I would be forever grateful for an invite!!!! Thanks in advance ;-)

Denise Canell January 11, 2010 at 6:32 pm

This looks really exciting and I would love to try it!  I have always been on the “techi” cutting edge, being one of the first agents in my market area to have a web page, belong to lead generating sites, etc.  This would be another great “first”!

natalie davis January 11, 2010 at 7:25 pm

I think tech is going to make our RE lives easier and give us a greater reach for our customers.  I’d love to see what this will do.  thanks

Lynn Doty January 11, 2010 at 7:29 pm

Google Wave looks to have limitless uses for the real estate industry.  I can see applications for everything from home inspections to training classes to marketing for properties.  I am very interested in being among the first with this great tool!

Sharon Tucker January 11, 2010 at 8:53 pm

Thanks for offering! It might be freezing in NY, but I want to catch the wave!

Sharon Tucker January 11, 2010 at 8:54 pm

It might be freezing in NY, but I want to Catch the google wave!   Thanks for offering!

Jay Feldman January 12, 2010 at 7:53 am

I see GWave as having potential as a real time collaborative auction in real estate, which would be very powerful in a hot market or on a hot property where time is of the essence in consummating an offer!  Coupled with broadcast marketing and digital signatures, this could become critcal to our business…and finally build a divide between the tech-savvy and the dinosaurs who still roam our offices wondering what a browser window is

Ginger Robles January 21, 2010 at 6:40 pm

Wow! I am so excited about Google Wave. Our office has just started using Google Docs and Google calendar for weekly sales reports, our duty schedules, yearly projected goals and picture storage. Property management is excited that at any time, any of the three members of property management can pull photos from a shared location without trying to remember which computer they were stored in. I am currently in the process of creating a video blog. I can’t wait to be able to tie all of this together. It will make life, both Real Estate and personal so much easier to manage. Google wave would be a huge time saver in creating and updating my blog. I know I’m too late for the last 8 invites, but I sure do hope I can find someone that has it, and is willing to send me an invite. This is a fabulous creation!

What an exciting time we live in…Google Wave is bringing us all to new heights.  I look forward to this time saving device to bring together all the “hats” that realtors must wear…our concierge services will be so easily accessible to others.  I would love to get an invitation to become part of the future mainstream of technology.

Jay Feldman February 11, 2010 at 5:23 am

Interactive broker “open” houses…mass sharing of information with OTHER agents about a particular listing..or public “open” houses, generating urgency and excitement…something lacking now in the market.  And sales “meetings” when no one really wants to sit and meet, but information needs to be shared and reacting to in real time.

Pick Me!

Debbie King February 11, 2010 at 6:21 am

The more I learn about Google Wave – the more I know it’s exactly what we need in this industry.

Janis Borgueta February 11, 2010 at 6:24 am

Hi there.. So many things to get done and stay current these days. This site does look to have it so much more streamlined and certainly makes sense to use.  I would love to be a part of your program. I do mostly new construction these days and my sellers/builders are looking for any new and exciting way that I can dazzle them with my marketing skills.  This is certianly what our young new buyers are looking at, and therefore my staying on top of the game is what needs to be done. I am looking forward to being a part of your GOOGLE WAVE!! Thanks so much Janis

We’ve got our board… Ready to ride the WAVE with Tech Savy Agent!

Lee Johansen February 11, 2010 at 9:52 am

Google Wave appears to be a revolutionary tool combining all of the communication tools we currently use in a more succinct way.

Theresa Kuyl February 11, 2010 at 10:33 pm

Based on what I have been reading, Google Wave is going to revolutionalize the real estate industry in ways unseen since the introduction of the Multiple Listing Service and the Internet! Seeing as how Facebook and Twitter have brought us together, spurring referrals from other industry professionals and expanding our warm markets (for those who were wise enough to take notice) one can only imagine the impact this will have! Excited I am! Thank you for the opportunity Tech Savvy Agent and thank you for the steady flow of valuable information you keep spinning daily! I will be watching and reading. Theresa Kuyl

Mary Lou Galea February 12, 2010 at 5:59 am

I would love to have the Wave.  I am teaching tech tips in my Coldwell Banker office and I look forward to getting more and more agents involved and updated in the Tech Savvy World.
