6 reasons why a personal landing page will boost your business

Personal Landing Pages (or Virtual Business Cards) have gained a lot of attention during the last months. But what advantages do these sites have for your real estate business and how can one use them effectively? We wrapped some of the most important points together, to show you how the proper use of a Personal Landing Page will boost your business.

Using a service like DooID.com, a Personal Landing Page can be set up in just a few minutes, but will be of long-lasting value for your business. These sites almost need no maintenance, as they grab most of their content from the services you use. As long as you don’t change address or contact data, your Landing Page keeps itself up-to-date automatically -nice to know, not only from a productivity point of view …

Let’s see how a Landing Page can really help you to do more business:

1) Connect with people on a more personal and emotional level

Emotions are a very subjective component of every sales process, but none the less weight heavily when taking decisions. Your Personal Landing Page is the ideal place for connecting with potential clients on a more personal and emotional level. Showcase, for example, your hobbies, the food you like and your professional focus, just be yourself and give a brief overview of your personality. For your visitors you’re not that “sales person” anymore, but the guy that plays tennis, loves his family and eats way to much chocolate.
You just created an emotional link to your audience, stepped out of the crowd and turned into someone special. The personality you communicate helps to strengthen your personal brand and will even make you much easier to remember.

2) Enhance your client-service

Giving people the option to contact you in many different ways will surely delight many. Facebook, Twitter, mobile phone, Skype, email or commenting on your blog, visitors of your Landing Page can decide which way they want to get in touch with you. Your site should also contain a link to download your contact data as a v-card (format for direct import into address books and email programs). This will not only be seen as an enhanced service towards your clients, but will also increase the chance to establish new contacts.
The main advantage Landing Pages have compared to blogs or company websites, is their clear focus on contact details: visitors see who you are and how to contact you in the blink of an eye. You’re easily accessible, and that directly leads to more business opportunities.

3) Drive traffic to your online universe

Once again, the strength of your Personal Landing Page is its simplicity, there’s no distractions, as all your links and social media services are gathered in an easy to understand format. It’s a tiny overview of all your online activities and an appealing invitation to check out more of your virtual universe. An example: Someone receives an email of yours, containing the link to your Landing Page, from there he visits and “likes” your Facebook page, goes to your Twitter site and then checks out the link to your listings. If your email would have linked just to your company website, this maybe wouldn’t have happened. People’s attention span online is extremely short, and nobody wants to search through an entire website, just to filter out all your contact details and links.

4) Take care of your personal brand and reputation

Someone interested in your person possibly just googles your name to see who you are and what you do. The result might not always be the one you desire. Controlling your online reputation isn’t an easy task, there’s far to many channels spreading content across the web. A Personal Landing Page is a good home base for reputation management. Use a personal domain (yourname.com, yourname.me, etc.) and forward it to your Personal Landing Page, this looks more professional and chances are that it will be among the first things people find about you.

5) Some extra SEO

Your Personal Landing Page is packed with links that lead to relevant content about yourself and your business. It gets a lot of link juice, which will make some nice SEO work for you.

6) Make it easy for people to remember you

I’ve mentioned this before, but this point deserves it’s own presentation. The most prominent thing on your Landing Page should be your name, followed by the additional information like links, contact details, map, bio, etc.. Use an appealing image or background image that reflects the personality and message you want to promote. The visual impact of your landing page, combined with the personal character of its content, will help to make you easier to remember as a person.

I have noticed a couple of my friends using a personal landing page to keep track of all of their social profiles. It seems like a great idea to help your personal branding efforts.

If you are on wordpress, we have been using Premise by Copy blogger. (I’m getting zero, zilch, nada from this plug). It is an inexpensive plugin for wordpress and I have it installed on all of my blogs – they have different functions, sliders, content landing pages, media landing pages, sales landing pages, etc…

Here is one I built showing Santa Clarita Real Estate by price: //paris911.com/byprice

To answer, Steve’s Question, if I may be so bold. I’d do a word press site and they get IDX from Diverse Solutions (google them). The maps are easy to build and you will have a Content marketing platform up and running in minutes.

    End of Line…

Like the idea of a personal landing page. Had never heard of it until now. I am not really tech savy….trying to find my way around to the best ways to get my name out there.
Question – Do you use the personal landing page with your website or separate with link to your website?
I have just set up my free company provided website with a domain name I chose. The template on the website is standard to all agents. Any ideas other than landing page to set myself apart and utilize my free website?
Also, would you use your personal landing page link in a QR code to put on business cards and advertising?
Thanks for any input on my questions!
I am finding so much info…..just don’t know best way to utilize it.
    Finding it a little overwhelming.
Thanks again to anyone with ideas to help!!!

I’ve been recommending them to others. I think it’s a great way to build a unified brand that is easily recognizable. Great for SEO also.
