30+ years of sales experience in the personal sales field has taught me the importance of understanding the customer’s needs. Whether you are a seller or a buyer, I try to identify the specific goals that you want to achieve in your transaction.
All the technologies that come to the real estate market are of no help to a customer if the agent isn’t skilled in using them or willing to integrate new ones. I know that buyers come to us from everywhere in the world so your property has to be seen by them wherever they are when they are looking. I use Facebook, Twitter, a blog, a personal website, and video to market the properties. In addition, we can handle all the paperwork by use of technology.
A recent example: a buyer, who resided with his wife in Michigan, had been temporarily transferred to Belfast, Northern Ireland. He saw a condo on one of the online sites and inquired about it. I went to the condo, recorded four videos and uploaded them to YouTube. He, in Belfast, and his wife, in Michigan, viewed the video, discussed it over Skype and decided to make an offer. The property owners reside in Japan so the entire transaction was done via the internet and overnight mail delivery. Once the property was closed, the buyer and his wife came down to take possession. We have developed quite a friendship during this process!
That is the ultimate goal: to help people make good real estate decisions, no matter the physical circumstances, and to be happy with those decisions.
