Grammarly – Free Spelling, Grammar and Punctuation Check

I am a terrible writer.   Fortunately, Grammarly has been helping me become more proficient at something I used to loathe doing, proofreading.

I did very well in math and science, but just got by in my writing classes. It’s kind of funny since now I run a technology blog and need to write a heck of a lot more than I need to compute math equations.

One tool that has helped me immensely over the past month anywhere I type on the web is a little chrome extension by the name of Grammarly! Grammarly helps me prevent spelling, grammar and punctuation mistakes on any site, program, or email while on Chrome.  If you are not a Chrome user, this extension is the reason to switch!

Here is a breakdown of the feature set and a quick video showing you the power of Grammarly Lite!

Contextual spell check - correct misspelled words and misused dictionary
words (loose-lose, there-their-they’re, affect-effect)

Grammar check - for misused articles, prepositions, capitalization,
subject/verb agreement, modifier placement, and more

Punctuation correction - ensure correct use of commas, apostrophes,
colons, dashes, and ending punctuation

Synonyms suggestion - access in-text contextual thesaurus to quickly
find synonyms for any word

Dictionary & Thesaurus - use built-in smart dictionary to look up word
definitions with one click.

Just plain awesome. Thanks so much Steve! Not only will I use this spell checker daily (if not hourly) but I will forward it to my partners who need it as well.

I don’t know how I got on your list, but I am so greatful. I can’t spell so I create everything in word and then paste it in what ever I am doing. This will be wonderful. Hope I can get the app on my phone. Again, thank you.

It looks like a great add-on, BUT by adding it on then it says it can access ALL my data on ALL of my websites.

Is that really something that I would want happening???

And it didn’t help Steve P. know the difference between “Your” and “You’re”. :-/

It has to access what you type or it won’t work.

Randy, I don’t see where I used your or you’re??? I spelled out you are, but that’s it.
