Google+ Introduction and Thoughts for Real Estate Agents

Google Plus has been a hot topic for real estate agents as of late, so I thought I would make a video that  accomplishes two things.  First off, I wanted to give the people who are not on the beta yet a little tour and a “what to do” when they first get on the system.  Second, if you are on it already, I share a number of cool tips that I found with my limited experience on the network.  There are a lot of other things that you can do that are not previewed in this video, but this should be a decent initial overview.

A little after half way in you can listen to my thoughts on how agents may use Google+ in the future.  Times are changing fast, will Google+ prevail?

  1. Very Interesting… I got an invite but just need to activate and play with it…

If there is anyone that can battle with Facebook it’s Google!

  4. Steve – great video. Thank you. How does one invited to the beta?

Thanks Billy, you can get an invite from someone who is on it already when they open up the invitations button. It doesn’t appear very often though.

I have also heard that people went to the Google Plus sit and requested an invite from there too.

Loved this Steve. How do I get a Google Plus Invite

  7. Plus is absolutely a game changer! The circles concept is brilliant and makes it simple to organize, follow, and connect with your friends and colleagues. With tools like hangouts and other breakthroughs, I think Google+ will definitely steal some of FB’s thunder (or will force them to improve)..

I wish I could invite others to come on board . . . they haven’t given me any yet.

Still waiting for my google+ invite.
    Any suggestions?

    Thanks, Dave

This is great, Steve, and very helpful. I kept hearing about Google+ and couldn’t figure out where and what it is. I just learned the reason for that is it is in beta trial right now. I did go to http://plus.Google.com and right on home page you can enter your email to be notified when you can get in. In the meantime, if any of you out there are in or get in and get invitations, I’d sure love to be invited. Thanks!

the backdoor method that actually works vs putting your name on the google waitlist is to have a friend who is already on google+ share his/her content with you via email and as registration windows of opportunity open up, there will be an invite in that email to register. hope that’s helpful :-)

i find it to be a sort of a hybrid between twitter and FB, allowing you to very quickly expand your reach to some really neat people in fascinating fields worldwide in more than the 140 character Twitter limit, with more privacy and sharing controls than FB *and* much easier to upload attachments.

Excellent videos Steve! G+ won’t kill Facebook, but I can assure you those guys are watching closely and probably a little freaked out…

Anyone is welcome to hit me up at http://gplus.to/PhxREguy

Tremendous potential to replace a variety of older systems. Will need to analyze current systems and see how this new technology can improve timely communications with clients and prospective clients

  15. Great tips Steve. I have been on it for a few days but appreciate your first couple of tips regarding gplus.to and the combination of facebook and google+. I am always learning alot from Tech Savvy Agent.
    Thanks so much.

    love the FB thread feature!

  17. Jim Phillips says:

Great ideas on using the technology! …can’t wait to use circles and hangout. Targeting specific interests with timely info like “Deal of the WeeK” has awesome potential to supercharge business.

Thanks Steve, great tips. I secured my name on gplus.to, are people also securing their Facebook Business names too? Also I noticed that the Facebook integration doesn’t work with Internet Explorer.

  19. Ed Brophy says:

Steve, just to clarify, that vanity url you can get at gplus.to is not the actual vanity url that Google plans to offer for Google+. You weren’t too clear on that.

It’s a great temporary option until Google releases the vanity url, so you may still be able to get plus.google.com/Steve.

Also if you already have a Google Profile, you can use that to direct people to your Google+ world. For instance if you use profiles.google.com/ewbrophy you’ll find me on Google+

What do you think?
