The Queue | Rescue Time | Mophie | Kaywa | Zebra Fund
In this week’s episode of The Queue I get back to basics and provide 3 practical takeaways to help your productivity. If you are reading this on a mobile device click here to watch the episode now.
Rescue Time is a plug in for your computer that will show you exactly where you are spending your time on the web. It allows for locking yourself into a program for a set amount of time as well as pop up alerts when you have spent X amount of time within a specific application or website.
Mophie has a must have iPhone accessory called the Juice Pack which is a case and battery charger in one. I have no idea what I did without it as we all know how fast our smartphone batteries drain. If you have an option like Mophie for the Blackberry or Android please let me know in the comments below.
Kaywa is a QR Code generator site that has all of the normal options for redirecting a scan to a URL, BUT also allows for SMS lead generation which is a nice touch.
Lastly, my good friend Daniel Rothamel aka The Real Estate Zebra is going through a difficult situation that has been written about by Jay Thompson, Chris Brogan and others and if you would like to help support him their is a site for his defense fund where you can donate.
As always any questions or comments can be left below.

Chris, Looks like Mophie is only compatible with the AT&T iPhone? Say it ain’t so!
No on their homepage it says all iPhones.
Chris,
Ben had something for his EVO. He said it lasts 18 hours. Not sure exactly what it is though.
Chris, I’ve been waiting for a company that has the ability to generate leads with QR codes…I went to Kaywa but couldn’t find anything about lead gen…can you sent me a link? Is this free right now or is it a service like arch?
Great information! Like that Kaywa information, will look into it. I just started switched to HTC EVO from Blackberry (sprint provider so couldn’t get an iphone), looking forward to seeing what you find out on device for android technology. Thanks for sharing. Will do a donation to Daniel. Looking forward to seeing you in Las Vegas at Century 21 convention.
LOVE the mophie!
I really love these queues!! I always come away with at least one thing I can share with my clients!! I am loving it!!
Thanks a bunch.
Have a great week.
Kawya does not give any directions on how to lead capture a phone number. I see the page to generate the QR codes and the options for what it will do, but nothing about how to capture a phone number. Any suggestions?
When they send you the text you get their number.
You continually blow me away with such EXCITING tools…most of which are free (shocking) and even if they do charge down the road…my increased productivity should have MORE than paid for whatever the fee may come down the line! Thanks again!
Chris,
I’m with Buddy…I made a qr code for the heck of it to post on my Fb page, but could not figure the lead generation ability you mentioned…looks like it is free right now though…I dont have any listing right now..any other thought on where to use it?thx! Jc
[...] a great new application called “Rescue Time”. As usual, we have included the link to the video [...]
I’m with Buddy, couldn’t quite figure out how to send a text where they just hit send and it takes them to a website and gets me their phone number as it looks like that’s what your saying.
Chris, I used Kawya to create a QR code which is now on my business card. I guess I am missing something, when someone scans the QR I do not get any text messages??? puzzled. Not sure where you would add your “message”
Thanks
Chris, just want to say thanks again for all the insanely great info. Keep all the great work and you are truly and asset to my business.
Another Great QUEUE !!! I will see ya in Vegas at REMAX Convention!
Chris, just wanted to say thanks. All of the advice I get from you in The Queue is really incredible.
Good content, but what struck me most was your travel schedule. I hope you are taking care of yourself. Between being away and that beard – hope your wife and kids recognized you! Be safe and see you in Vegas.
I wanted to comment on Mophie, yes it is ONLY for Iphones. However, there is a portable battery you can buy for the Androids. It works great. I had to buy one due to how much I use my phone and the real estate apps daily. It can charge your phone and the extra battery at the same time when it is pluged into an outlet or the computer. Hope this info helps.
Chris – thx for Kaywa info. Fantastic tool. Love the idea of having it set up so that I get a text when someone wants more info or to look at more pics. I’m curious of how the “more info or pics” gets back to them, at their phone #, from me at that point though. I certainly don’t want to call anyone that may not want to be called but just wants more info immediately. Big props for another great Queue – looking forward to the next.
Chris,
Thought that when someone scans the QR code, it automatically sends an alert/lead capture?
Morphie is off the hook! The Rescue Time is Great for quality time management.
They don’t look as cool, but Seidio makes extended batteries for many Android phones. http://www.seidioonline.com
Rescue time seems like it could save me tons of wasted hours online.
Chris, I love the tools you’ve covered, especially RescueTime.
Will you be in Vegas, at Realogy? If so, I hope we have a chance to meet up.
I’m using Noteleaf, a client (http://techcrunch.com/2011/03/03/noteleaf/), that gives me the LinkedIn profiles of the people I have meetings with, along with location information and emails exchanged, all to my phone, right before the meeting.
With all of your travels, meetings and general schedule, I think you’ll like it
An
Thanks for Chris for all the great info. Might need a bit more details on the QR code. I tried all 4 options but no luck on the lead generation part of it. I am using QR codes all over like you suggested. I was the 1st to use it in the local Real Estate Book and now 6 other agents are using it. The RE Book also did a 2 page spread on QR codes. It is not a fad for sure.
Thanks again!!
Thank you so much, Chris! Could you please elaborate on “how” Kaywa is used as a lead generator with qr codes? I’ve been on that site for about an hour and fail to see how one can setup a QR that notifies me when someone scans it. I would like a qr code solution that both puts my contact info into their smart phones and is lead gen at the same time with that “1″ qr code. Is there a solution to “2″ goals for “1″ qr code?
@dacecekroniklz Well for quite a few Twitter and Twitter API was down. The site came back first, then Hootsuite, then Twitter app.
Great tips Chris. Rescue time is something we can all use to help us keep from getting distracted. It’ll force us to stay within specified boundaries of time. Such a cool idea!
