iPad for Realtors – Part 2 – Facebook and Google

As a Realtor you may not use the entire web eveyday, but I bet that you always use Google at some point daily. Many of you, like me, are now also on Facebook daily to network and grow your real estate SOI. I wanted to do a quick look at the iPad’s abilities to navigate those 2 programs and I think you will like what you see! Enjoy and if you have any questions feel free to leave them below.

  1. Thanks so much, chris!  I now have a really good feel for what an iPad can do, and before your 2 videos, I was clueless.  Still not sure I absolutely NEED an iPad, but it looks incredibly impressive and fun .

I bought the ipad specifically for listing presentation in Keynote.  After paying $9.99 for the Keynote ap, I was very disappointed.  The Keynote version in the Ipad is a very watered down version.  My Mac listing presentation will have to be totally revamped to work with the ipad.   It’s also very difficult to import files into the ipad.

I like the fact that you can see the full version of FB and Google on my iPad. It makes it much easier to navigate and search whatever you need. I love my iPad specially when I am on the road, no need to fire up my MacBook… tuen on the iPad and voila!! I am up and running.

Also love the new Gowalla and TweetDeck for the iPad.

    Great review! Thanks Chris.

  4. great video! only thing is that i don’t think our MLS (SoCalMLS) is compatible on non-IE browsers…and having MLS access is key as a realtor too. i’m sure there is a plug-in or something to make it work, but i don’t know if you can get the full functionality of our MLS that way. but i love what can be done on the ipad otherwise. thanks for sharing!

  5. For the ipad to be useful to me, as a realtor, I need to be able to perform the following:

    1. Complete contracts online : The ipad does not support this due to their stubborn position regarding Adobe.
    2. Search the MLS : Ipad Capable
    3. Access Google Tools such as apps mail, voice, calendar, and contacts : Ipad Capable

According to Meatloaf, 2 out of 3 ain’t bad, but for me, I number 1 is an absolute must.

I’m hoping Apple changes their position or a fully functional Chrome tablet is released soon.

This was very informative…just got my IPad yesterday and was a bit disappointed when I found out there were no apps for Google or facebook. Thank You

  8. I attended Agent Reboot in NYC yesterday, 1/11/11…… Loved seeing you “Live” Chris!!! I officially fell in love with my IPAD. I took all the notes on the IPAD, and riding home on the LIRR I wrote a blog on the IPAD…. Today I downloaded all my photos from my phone. I created the coolest slide shows with music from my downloaded photos…. This IPAD which I have had for three months, is AMAZING. I can’t wait to use it on a listing presentation!!! It is very impressive and the coolest tool ever. This and my IPHONE and I’m in business!!!

    Chris-
I’m a brand new agent, and due to my age, I suppose that by default I represent the “next generation”. I found your site and It’s helped me plot out how I will build my brand, and I’ve shown it to a few agents around the office and it has opened a new world they didn’t know existed. My question is what does someone like me do with their current “personal” facebook page? I’m sure for many agents they are creating a page from scratch that focuses on the professial side of their lives. However, I’ve had facebook since the first year and I highly doubt potential clients are interested in what one of my old college friends decides to write on my wall at 3am when they were feeling nostalgic about something that happened that time on spring break in Amsterdam, or even worse they decide to tag me in a not-so flattering picture. I don’t want to alienate the many people that I communicate with daily using facebook, but I want a polished, formal page I can use to network and bring in new business. Do I start a new page and hope all my existing friends will follow me there? Any advice from you or the Techsavvy masses would be greatly appreciated!

    Chris,
Great Info. Who could build an app for my RE company. I would like something like ziprealty for my company Solid Rock, Realtors. Do you have anything?

  11. Chris: Any suggestions for a good, easy to use photo stitching software, preferably free or minimum cost.

What do you think?
