Sharing Real Estate Documents the Easy Way – Cartavi
I use Dropbox for all of my document storage even though it has it’s quirks. When Glenn Shimkus began to pitch me on his new product Cartavi, that is also a document storage system, I was highly skeptical. However, after seeing the interface and learning about how it’s designed only for the real estate community, he won me over. A document storage program doesn’t initially seem to be as exciting as some of the other systems that were showcased at Inman’s Connect conference, but I think you may change your mind after watching this video.
Here is a short overview from the Cartavi website, followed by a interview with Glenn to give you a good idea of how the system works.
Everyone hates doing paperwork.
As a real estate professional, you know that passing around contracts, inspection reports, loan applications, and every other document involved in a transaction can be a real hassle. Ever spend an entire morning driving across town to deliver a document to a client? Or waste a few days waiting for a signed contract to arrive through the mail?
Forget that. Cartavi provides you with one convenient place to store, manage, and share all those documents with anyone who needs them. Unlike other real estate applications overloaded with superfluous features, complex interfaces, and costly setup and support fees, Cartavi offers an easy-to-use platform that helps you be more productive.
Who Uses Cartavi?
Agents, brokers, attorneys, inspectors, loan officers, title companies—everyone involved in real estate benefits from using Cartavi.
I am also really excited to bring you a 50% discount off the first year of this product so you can try it out at $5 a month or $50 for the year!

It looks interesting, but the link is broken and I don’t see anywhere to enter the promo code
Hmm, I just tried it and it works. Are you going to http://www.cartavi.com/techsavvyagent ?
Maybe the links were just changed, but the URL before was redirecting to cartavi.com/TechSavvyAgent so the caps were throwing it off. It works now
Yeah, I figured it out. The one on the bottom worked but the ones in the body did not. Thanks Ben!
So the big benefit over DropBox is the transaction room and the ability to outbound efax. I do love my free 18GB on DropBox (thanks to the .edu trick). It would be hard to give that up.
Sounds tempting. Is anyone using this yet?
Cartavi is different from Dropbox in the areas…. 1) Cartavi was designed specifically for the real estate industry, 2) Cartavi supports all of the ways you exchange documents today – fax in/out, email in/out and through online Transaction Rooms and 3) Cartavi allows you to not only view documents from your mobile device but to take action with them (rename, move/copy, fax, email, create a room, invite people into the room). One other point of interest is Cartavi has real time notifications such that if someone views a document that you shared with them you know when they viewed it. I hope this helps. If not, feel free to email me directly at glenn@cartavi.com.
Nice, but in order to win me over it would need transaction checklistst and Docusign API integration.
Thanks for the input Steph, and please stay tuned. Those are two areas we’re looking into. paul@cartavi.com
@Paul and @Glenn, What are the advantages of Cartavi over Box.net? I understand how Cartavi it is better than dropbox, dropbox does not do very much. Box.net on the other hand does everything Glenn mentioned and has dozens of 3rd party plugins to expand it’s reach. Not to mention single sign on with google apps. So what is the advantage to Cartavi?
