Real Estate iPhone Apps – Top Producer

Top Producer just released(in beta) it’s brand new real estate CRM app for the iPhone and a few select people have it right now including the team at Tech Savvy Agent! Even though it is still in an unreleased beta, it seems to be pretty darn stable.  Something is always better than nothing, especially when that something is free.  With the flood of real estate apps hitting the market it was only a matter of time before Top Producer came through.

Your favorite guys at Tech Savvy Agent got a chance to play around with the app already and it looks awesome.  Take a look at our video to see this new app from Top Producer in action and make sure you watch until the end as we are running a contest and will be attempting to secure some beta’s from Top Producer for you guys.  We want to hear from all of the tech savvy agents out there using the iPhone now to assist in running their real estate business and share with others who are not how it has helped and become a part of your day to day life as a Realtor.  Please post your favorite real estate apps as well so other like-minded agents can take advantage of them too!

Another first from the Tech Savvy Agent team!  Enjoy.

The iPhone has certainly changed by business. I no longer have to carry around a laptop or worry about getting to my office to look up information. I am able to provide information to my clients on the fly and on the spot. If I am driving through a neighborhood with some buyers and they need information on a house for sale that is not in my neighborhood, I can pull up the app. If I want to get an idea about home values in an unfamiliar place I can grab the app. If I have out of town buyers and they want to see just one house, grab ustream and show them the house live with my phone and built in video camera. Using these tools make me standout as a realtor with resources. I actually wrote an blog post on a similar subject recently. If you are interested follow this link. //, Steve. You guys rock!Chris

My wife has the iphone and loves it. She has the app and uses it each and every day. Top Producer hosts our Web page and we use 8i to manage our data base of clients. We both attend the National Assoc. of Realters Convention each year to listen to the speakers and learn all we can. I’m a facebook friend of Max Pigman, one of the vice-presidents’ of, Tech nut, and gifted speaker. I love to live and learn all I can about real estate tech stuff so we can better business and communication with clients in the Real Estate World.

As a Blackberry user, I have been on the fence about the iphone and unsure about whether or not to switch phones …. until now. This will clinch it for me, I did not like the Top Connector for BB (nor did I like paying for it) and with this app for TP I am ready to go over and get a new iphone. When will it be released out of beta? I am looking forward to reading more comments about how I can use my new phone in my real estate business. Thanks for a great post.

Like Gloria, I, too, have been a Blackberry user weighing the options of the iPhone.  Last week at the KW Family Reunion I utilized my husband’s iPhone to take care of some business, and truly realized the value add the iPhone would bring to my business.  I have played with the app for iPhone, as well, and see what a benefit that will be.  The only thing holding me back up until now was that TP did not have an iPhone app.  They kept saying they were working on one, but I was told that when I first subscribed to TP in November, 2007!  I am so excited about this announcement, and can’t wait to add the iPhone and TP app to the other tools I use in my business!!

Thrilled that this will be available! I moved to the iPhone just a few months ago from Palm and giving up my Top Producer access has been my only regret.  Can’t wait to try this app!  One other must have is Dragon Dictation – record a memo and send it a text or email.  Thanks Top Producer and Tech Savvy Agent!

I am soo excited to see that TP is finally coming out with an app.  I used to have TP mobile when I had a Palm and have missed having my information mobile.  I use my iphone all of the time and for everything!  This is the only phone that I have owned that I couldn’t wait until my contract was up so I could get another one.  I use the app along with everyone else, I also just downloaded iXpenseIt also which helps me track my expenses.  I keep tabs of all my social media friends with Facebook, and LinkedIn, so I don’t miss a beat.  Thanks Top Producer and Tech Savvy Agent! This was a long time coming but I’m sure it will be worth the wait. 🙂

I have used Top Producer for many years (before it was on-line) and it has been my one and only data base program over the years.  I’m still not telling you how old I am!!!  However, I am a tech savy agent and love my iPhone and use it all the time for it just seems like everything.  Had a palm before and really missed have Top Producer on my iPhone so I’m so excited that I’ll be able to get it back…like a long lost friend.

I too have been a Top Producer user since the pre online days of syncing on floppys (fun).  Really missed the phone app when I went from Palm to iphone.  Going to the iphone was a great decision. I finally made the switch with the addition of MS Exchange support to the iphone. MS Exchange is a great tool for agents with a heavy email load. (be a great techsavvy topic). As far as iphone Apps: every agent needs I have the WhitePages app (its free), this lets you quickly reverse search those calls with no voicemail to see who was calling you before you call back. Bump App is a great tool for trading contact info with fellow iphoners (free). I also utilize a fee App, Voice Reminders VoCal, paid $5,99 now $7.99. This one of my ideas i never did anything about.  You press a button, record a voice memo to self, press button again and it pops up a reminder menu, you select when you want to be reminded of memo it PUSHES reminder just like you text, email, voicemail notifications.  Great for those on the road “thoughts” you can’t right down and will forget by the time you get there. Great supplement to calander. I highly recommend the iphone.  The only/biggest negative for me is the battery life. I have used mine to the point that by afternoon after charging to keep up with use it will get to hot to take a charge. Lay it on a ziplock of ice to cool it down and it will take a charge again and faster.  Sticking it in the slot of my truck AC vent does the trick as well.

The new 8i app with the new app for the iPhone makes it a easy to use tool for agents.

TP8i is just a part of my daily routine…grab coffee, open email, open TP.  The ability to have all of my data with me via an iphone app would be stupendous!  As a market snapshot user as well, I can only imagine how easy it would be to get people into the database and signed up for MS if I could do it right in front of them and the report would be waiting in their email when they got back to their computer (for those poor souls that don’t already have an iphone).  What apps do I use?  The facebook app helps me stay connected throughout the day with family, friends and clients via both my personal page and my fan page.  My new favorite app (though still in beta) for measuring homes is Davinci.  I can draw the exterior walls as I go, and the square footage is calculated for me.  I know that not every state allows agents to measure, but it’s a required field in the N.O. MLS, so this is a time saver for me.

As a Mac user, TP and my local mls are the only programs that keep me going back to Windows.  I can hardly wait until TP goes live with an iPhone app.  Being able to access my TP files through my iPhone will be like the dawn of a new day.  What a concept…. I can only imagine the possibilities.  I have the first generation iPhone and can’t imagine life without it.  From on the spot photos to clients and customers, to apps to keep me engaged while waiting or during boring presentations (oops!), to checking email on the fly, staying in touch via facebook, my iPhone has become a way of life.  Again, can hardly wait for the TP app.  Please sign me up for the beta!

Well, a simple demo of ‘a day in a life of a Realtor(r) with iPhone’…With a buyer on a showing: Buyer wanted to re-confirm the new price on the home I showed and a click on app on my iPhone to show the new price. Somehow, not so ‘wowed’ with the phone and thought if something else is available nearby. Another click on the same app to show what’s available in the neighborhood. Buyer picks couple of them. Clicked on contact phone# of the listing office to schedule the appointment for one and click on link to schedule online appointment for another one – bingo! We are on our way to next two appointments – thanks iPhone. The second one was slightly on a higher end and buyer wanted to make sure his monthly payments are within the reach – and here I click on an mortgage calculator app to answer that question. Liked the second home – but what about the neighborhood? How far is commuter train location? One more click on ‘around me’ and ‘search it’ to get the answers he wanted. Google the schools info and we have one. How far is CVS? we have one. After looking at the home, the buyer wanted to find out what’s sold in neighborhood – and click on ‘Smart Agent’ app to find the answer! Well, I wish I had ‘Top Producer’ Market Snapshot app here – click to generate the market snapshot and preview it before I email it to my buyer who is with me! I guess, I need the TP app on my iPhone. How about a demo of ‘A day in a life of a Realtor(r) with iPhone’ when he/she is with his/her seller client? This will be..another story. Some other day. Thanks, TP, Thanks TSA for changing our lives.

Great video guys, but sometimes I wonder about the people at TP. I was just on the phone with one of the tech guys working something out and in our conversation I mentioned your video. The tech guy got upset, wanted to know where I saw it, and said this shouldn’t have happened. I told him I was glad someone was putting the news out there because getting info out of TP is like pulling teeth. Maybe they should read the comments above and realize that if they get out in front of the story instead of reacting in a negative way, life would be simpler. This is very good news, I can’t wait for the app. I used TP on my Treo smartphone and  the iPhone app looks much better. Thanks for the video, I am counting down the days, or months. There is light at the end of the tunnel…

I have been waiting for this. The iPhone is great for accessing information while in the field. The small screen is the limitation, but the iPad could be a game changer.  Of course it will take TP years before it comes out with an iPad version. One thing I wish Apple and other mobile device manufacturers would understand, is that these mobile products are, well…mobile! We REALTOR’s spend much of our time in cars and outdoors, where the displays on most computers and cellphones cannot be seen. It is especially a problem here in sunny Southern Arizona. The technology exists, as my color Garmin GPS looks great inside or out.The new app is great. I just gave it to a client who has an iPhone. She uses it all the time, and really likes the GPS home location tool. Instead of calling other agents for information, she just uses her iPhone.

I would love to be a BETA tester for the iPhone App! I rely on my phone to stay connected wherever I am. Have missed not having all my contacts from TP in my iPhone. Some features I would like to see:*Duplicate search from any field with ability to merge all into one (oldest).(This needs to be done in TP, long overdue!)*Ability to create contact in iPhone from TP

I have been wanting an TP8i Iphone app since I got the Iphone a year ago.  I really thing the Iphone is exactly what I need to keep me organized and on the move with apps like the, Trulia, Facebook, Tweetie, RECalc, Linkedin, Say Who, any GPS program, and so on.  I can blog while I wait for that late client to show up, I can even get on my local MLS and email out information to customers while I am on the phone with them.  It is really a mobile office so far except for  my main and most important program, TP8i!!!  This is the icing on the cake, the bannana on Elvis’s grilled PB&J.  Can’t wait for this to come out.  When it comes to Beta Testing, I will wear it out for you.  (Jumping up and down and SCREAMING pick me for the Beta test!!!!)

Like many others that have written I have been a TP user for the last 7 years.  We all know how hard the transition was to TP8i but once you work through it, it is just as awesome as before, if not better.I also have the IPhone which I love.  Every day I hear about more real estate related apps (some of which I just learned from reading your comments above).  The IPhone does make our business easier to conduct out in the field and most clients are really impressed.  I did have a Palm Centro before and the only thing I miss is the infrared to open lock boxes.  Had to go back to key card which makes me feel like I am taking a step back.  Like TP I hear that Supra is working on something for the IPhone.I certainly look forward to having a TP app on my IPhone and would love to be a Beta user.  These two products together will make life easier and more productive.

Hi everyone – finally I have found an interactive site – I WANT an I-phone so badly I can hardly see straight – and call TP all the time to see if they are up and running yet – as I am a BIG TP user – and don’t know, actually I really don’t think – I can give up the convenience of using my Palm Centro to call my clients with a flick of the nail after having everyone hot-sync’d in everyday.Question – have any of you I-phone users found an easy way to bring the contacts in to your I-phone from top producer?  I think, if that could be done, I would make the switch.I am on the “brink” of switching to the Blackberry Bold 9700 just to have a few more apps and to be always “on line”.Would love any suggestions. Thanks!  Mary

I’ll believe it when I see it. I’ve been using TP for well over 15 years and never been entirely satisfied. With my son now joining me we are looking for an efficient easy to use shared database/calander. We’ve got the iPhones, we’ve got the iPads, we’ve got the windows based desktop PCs at the office and home… all we need now is TP for iPhone and iPad. We’re getting tired of waiting and exploring other options. Never used TPs feature sheets accounting and other friviously applications other software does better anyway. ALL WE WANT AN EASY TO USE CONTACT/TIME MANAGEMENT SYSTEM that lets us spend our time belly to belly with clients instead of behind a computer screen.

Would a Top Producer Lite version be nice? I bet a lot of agents would buy into that. And here’s the upside for you Top Producer…. waaaaayyyyyy fewer tech calls.

  26. Mark Ranger June 2, 2010 at 11:40 pm - Reply

If it doesn’t happen soon we’re giving up and headed in this direction. We’re running both right now. Really how many of you actually use the feature sheets, accounting etc in TP? TP 10 Lite anyone?

I love Top Producer and have been a faithful user since the beginning of my real estate career just 4 years ago! I use them for my website, admin account, market snapshot, market builder, connector (for cma’s), postcards…you name it! Because I refuse to run my business without TP…I have been hanging on to my very OLD FASHIONED phone (just calls and texts!) because I keep hoping that the iphone app is right around the corner! I need a new phone so badly and will probably just go ahead and buy the iphone even though I have been hesitant but I would be so thankful to have even the beta test version for as long as necessary until they roll out the full version. I have referred many (still do) to top producer and would happily volunteer my time to help provide real agent interaction with top producer to help!

I think I am getting tired of holding my breath waiting for this app from TP. I’m curious if any of you have any other good contact management and calendar solutions that will sync with the iphone. I was actually thinking of using the google calendar was wondering what everyone else is doing if not using tp?

The most frequent iPhone app I use is HomePower which lets you calculate quickly for a buyer what his payment would be based on a percentage down payment, an interest rate, property taxes and condo fees, even PMI. It helps buyers determine quickly if they can afford a particluar house.

I am so excited. Does anyone have a time frame on when we can expect completion. I know it is a bit behind schedule. Suggestion…while it is in development maybe they could still add. Just as our contacts on the iPhone can merge with Facebook and pull pictures and public profile. I wish we could pull info from iPhone contacts and Facebook. Merging all of this together and giving us the most info in all locations. With no multiple manual input. Adding additional items like birthday, pictures, social networking, etc.

Well, it looks good, but the Droid phones have had cameras and shot just as good or even better videos. Now with the new Droid X from Motorola with an 8MP camera and HD Video I think it will be better than the iPhone and you will not have as many issues with connections to your phone service as you have with the iPhone. How about a test of the new Droid X as well as the iPhone? Like to see that as well since the iPhone is not the only game in town!

I’ve been using Top Producer since the DOS 5.0 days, so when I switched from a Palm Treo (which has TP and SUPRA key software) to iPhone (with no TP or SUPRA key software), It felt like having one of my limbs cutoff! BUT, I knew that eventually demand would catch up. The iPhone is an INCREDIBLE machine, and the new TP (available ???) and SUPRA key (available late Aug 2010) will make it an even MORE incredible and valuable tool. I have apps to calculate mortgage payments, title insurance rates, dictionary, translate, bar codes reading, document scan, contract writing – the list is endless!! I can’t wait to get my Top Producer back!!!

  38. Ron Armstrong August 26, 2010 at 5:39 pm - Reply

I finally canceled Top Producer after 5 years of promises to become Mac compliant and accessible. Today’s real estate technology is moving at the speed of light unless you are TP. I was a trainer for them and loved the program IF I wanted to stay tied to the PC side of my computer which I do not. They were the last program that did not function on the Mac OS and being a web-based program I saw no reason for this. I love my iPhone, iPad, iMac and do not miss TP8i. In fact I ran my new database and TP side by side for 6 months until I realized I had stopped logging in at all and was just paying for nothing. So thank you Top Producer but 5 years of promises equates with lying to me. I need products that work today, out of the box and not in 5 more years. #just sayin’. Beta on the worlds most popular smart phone 3 years into the game is simply too little and tool late. Best of luck. Not bitter just tired of waiting….

I really like the mobileMe application for my iphone. It allows me to synch my calendar to multiple computers and allows my assistant to schedule appointments on the fly into my calendar and I get updates on the road. Also, it allows me to use the iDisk feature and upload important files I need to a single place where I can either use my iPad or iPhone to recall pertinant articles or documents or presentations for my clients.

All the different apps that are available are great. I think having Top Producer on the I-phone is just one more great service to help agents be more efficient. I have heard TP is a great CRM tool for Real Estate Agents. I am not a realtor so I don’t really know. However, I and a friend are app developers and we are working on an app for home buyers to help them evaluate homes to see which one really fits their needs. We are launching in the coming weeks (May 2011) but have some early screen shots up on our facebook page.

Would love any feedback folks might be willing to share.
