3D Floor Plans – Diakrit Review

While floor plans have always been used in new construction here in the US, many real estate agents seem to have ignored the usefulness of 3D floor plans when it comes to a typical home sale.  Things are about to change and we have negotiated a free floor plan for all of our readers (details at the bottom of this post).

3D Floor Plans for Realtors

Diakrit, one of Europe’s leading visualization companies, offers a simple and cost-effective way of submitting your hand-sketched or architectural floor plans online and transforming them into powerful marketing tools within just 24 hours!  Choose between a conventional 2D floor plan customized to match your company’s profile, or opt for one of Diakrit’s 3D floor plan designs which provide visual assistance to home buyers that may not be able to see through a custom decorating scheme or 15 years of clutter scattered throughout a home.

3D Floor Plans

More on 3D floor plans…

A recent study released by Rightmove, England’s largest home search portal (similar to Realtor.com here in the US) showed that properties marketed with a floor plan actually generated 30% more buyer interest. That study was quickly followed by another, this time from Home Moving Trends Survey (2009), showing that 85.5% of the house-hunting public consider floor plans as useful or essential (with nearly half saying they are essential) in their online property search. This puts floor plans right up there with absolute must-haves such as virtual tours, photographs, written descriptions and location maps. Take a look at some before and after examples to see why consumers reacted the way they did.

Publicity here in the US also shows a definite trend towards floor plans becoming a new staple in real estate marketing alongside video and mobile.  Diakrit’s floor plan services were recently featured on nationally acclaimed The Money Pit Home Improvement Radio Show (listen now) and The Council of Residential Specialists (the Realtor CRS designation) published a spotlight on Diakrit in their “Great Finds” section of their March/April magazine in 2009.  Diakrit has also been featured on Active Rain, in RIS Media’s e-newsletter, on several agent blog sites, and has exhibited at a number of real estate trade shows.

In addition to the floor plans themselves Diakrit also offers a web-base furnishing tool called FloorPlanner which lets buyers place and scale furniture on the floor plans themselves to see how everything fits within a home…a definite plus when thinking about odd shaped rooms, small room sizes, open floor plans, or vacant homes.

I hope you have enjoyed our Diakrit review.  All in all this is a tech savvy, differentiating option that is sure to wow in any CMA at a listing presentation and also on line with web buyers who would love 3D floor plans of their potential next home.

Best of all we have worked out a deal for you guys to try it out for FREE!

  6. Thanks for the Tech Savvy Swag. I created an account with Diakrit this morning in order to give them a try on a new listing that’s coming next week. Matthew at Diakrit sent an email with the needed instructions (thought they’re easily found on the Diakrit website). Can’t wait to try it. And can you believe there is only a 24hr turnaround?! I’ll try and remember to come back and let you know it goes. Cindy
