Likify makes it easy to like you
Guest post by Josh Nekrep
At this point I think we all (mostly) agree that Facebook Pages offer a tremendous platform for us to connect and engage with both clients and prospects. One of my favorite things about getting “Likes” on a Facebook Page is that it’s a “soft sell” approach – very non-threatening. However, one of the challenges with Facebook Pages is driving people to the Page and getting them to “Like” it.
Enter Likify.net. This simple, easy little web service allows you to generate a QR Code that links to a picture of your choosing, and a Facebook Like button for a page of your choosing. How cool is that?
Imagine inserting this nifty little graphic into your Feature Sheets. What about on your Yard Signs to capture walk-by traffic? Print it on the back of your business card? Why not? What about placing it on your mail pieces to your Sphere Of Influence (they’re not ALL following your Facebook Page, are they?).
The list goes on and on. What’s important is that Likify.net represents an opportunity in “the real world” to reach out and capture followers to your Facebook Page.
And when I say it’s simple… All you need to do, after registering, is enter the URL of the page you want people to Like, enter a name for that page, and upload an image.
In fact, do me a favor and give it a try. Scan the QR Code in this post and, if you think this has been helpful, show some love and hit “Like”.

Hmmm ….sent me to someone named Josh’s web site, and the “like” button did not work. (I’m on a Blackberry).
I got Josh’s site too and Im on an Apple4
That’s ’cause “Josh” wrote the guest post.
The Like button should work, but may ask you to log in to Facebook in order to finish Liking.
I remember over a decade ago when the tech bubble was still going strong Forbes Magazine sent out a special scanner that looked like a mouse and would scan a similar code off of their magazine pages to take you to information about advertised products. It was nothing to buy, they just sent them to subscribers. I’ve got to admit, I never plugged it in and never used the thing. It was just easier to pull up a browser and go Google whatever the article was about. While it is kind of exciting all the things our smartphones will do, I still wonder whether this will really be that big a deal. I have some IPhone apps like the bar code scanner and simply never use them. Maybe I am too old to fully appreciate this old technology.
also just tried to get on and only got Josh’s site. It does not ask you to log onto facebook.
Andrew: Did you try hitting the “Like” button under the image? If you do, it should either add one Like to my Page, or ask you to log in to Facebook so that it can complete the Like. Which one happens depends on whether you have already logged into Facebook with your mobile browser and told it to remember you.
Which device are you using?

Here is the Cat that Forbes sent out to go with your mouse. Pretty sure it was a flop since the only one I ever saw was mine – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CueCat
I cannot get the banner or photo to work….any hints on type, size, etc..?
What am I missing? Most any free qr code generator will generate a code for a link it doesn’t matter if the link goes to a graphic or not.
