Unlock Your Reputation on Craigslist with Faceified

Guest Post by David Cummins of Faceified

A wide distribution of listings across the web isn’t enough to grab the attention of potential customers. Let’s face it, most real estate classifieds listings look the same. Your reputation is what should make your listings pop.

Faceified is a free service that enables real estate agents to build, manage, and showcase their reputations in all of their classifieds listings, helping them to stand out on Craigslist and giving them a leg up on the competition.

  1. I think it’s a nice looking feature, and It might add more reliability to our Craigslist posts, however, it’s missing a field to display our DRE license numbers.

  2. David says:

Thanks for the feedback William. We’ll be adding a field for your DRE license number ASAP. Please keep the feedback coming, as we’re constantly incorporating our users’ feedback into the product.

  3. That’s what I call customer service!

  4. Robin says:

Can someone explain how the client reviews are entered? Do clients have to log in to write a review or rate your service? Does Faceified merge data with other review services? My concern is that we are constantly asking clients for reviews for site after site after site … Would much prefer the rating system to be removed and to direct the potential lead to my testimonials page or a page of reviews with Incredible Agents or something similar. Is this possible?

  5. David says:

    Hi Robin,
Thanks for the questions. Please see my responses below:
    1. How are client reviews entered into Faceified?
When a request for a review is sent to a client, we make an effort to verify that the person who receives the request for a review and ultimately submits the review is a real person. Today, the way we verify reviewers is by requiring the reviewer to log-in with Facebook Connect when submitting their review. This helps us and potential clients reading your reviews to have confidence that the person submitting the review is a real person, which increases trust and reduces gaming of the system.

    2. Does Faceified merge data with other review services?
We are empathetic that you’ve worked hard to gather reviews and testimonials on various sites around the web. The short answer is that we do not merge data from other review services at this time. The primary reason for this is that we want to ensure the quality and integrity of reviews for potential buyers that read them, and we have no way to do that for reviews that are submitted to other services run by other people.

In addition, Faceified is unique in that each review is tied to a specific service rendered (i.e. a property sold/rented). This enables potential customers viewing your reviews to be able to read each review in context, increasing the effectiveness of the review. Our data tells us that it is much more helpful for a potential client to read a review about a specific property you sold/rented as opposed to a more general review.

Furthermore, each review on Faceified is tied to a specific date. The simple reason for this is that potential customers find more value in more recent reviews (i.e. within the past 1-2 years) as opposed to reviews from 5, 10, or even 20 years ago. Potential property buyers and renters tell us that the freshness of the reviews is as important, if not more important, than the number of reviews an agent has. That is why it is important to, not only gather reviews from your past clients, but also to continue to collect new reviews from more recent clients. The more dated the review, the less relevant it is to buyers today. We know it is a lot of work, but your reputation is your biggest asset and point of differentiation online, and, as such, your reputation requires constant care in order to continue to grow and flourish. This means keeping it up to date and fresh.

Lastly, Faceified is a review and reputation system. It is our core product and what we are really good at. We are not a marketplace. We are not a classifieds site or online directory. That means that you can use Faceified to request reviews no matter where your clients come from and take your reputation with you no matter which marketplace or classifieds site your clients might be tomorrow or 6 months from now. Many other sites that have a review feature doubles as a classifieds site or marketplace. They have a vested interested in keeping you there, so they make it difficult to take your reputation with you. We want your reputation to work for you no matter where you are listing your property. As a result, we have a duty to you to enable you to take your reputation and reviews wherever the buyers are.

    3. Direct the potential lead to my testimonials page
We know that real estate agents work incredibly hard to build and maintain their presence on multiple social media sites, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and more. The Internet has truly made real estate a 24/7 job. We also know that many agents maintain their own sites and/or blogs. That is why we enable you to make links to those other tools and services available on your Faceified profile by going to the “Settings” tab. If you have some testimonials on your website, blog, or somewhere else around the web, you can link to those testimonials from Faceified on the Business Website and/or Blog field of the Settings page. That way, anyone that clicks on your Faceified Seal can use your Faceified profile as another channel to your other online presences.

I hope the above helps to answer some of your questions. If you would like to talk in more detail, please send us an email at support@faceified.com and we’d be happy to find a time to connect with you.

Very nice, I think is a great idea however two things jump on my mind. First, I’m not completely sure but if I use the same code over and over again on Craigslist, my ad might get ghosted. Does Faceified provides some kind of randomizer so that the code changes? And if it does, what would happen with all my other Craigslist Ads that I posted before? Second, if I request customers to rate me, wouldn’t that be sharing my list with Faceified? I’m not so sure about sharing my customer list, I think that could break my Privacy Policy. Other than that I think is great. I’d like to try it out in addition to my Google Places where customers can also rate me. I wish I could pull my Google Places ratings and profile and create a badge just like Faceified. Keep up the good work!

  7. David says:

    Hi Rick,

Thanks for the questions. Ghosting has always been and will continue to be a challenge on Craigslist and even at places like banks and PayPal. As a result, were constantly enhancing our product and always encourage people to be cautious, use common sense, and always follow Craigslist’s guidelines.

You can think of Faceified in a similar way that you think about other contacts management tools such as Linkedin. The only time your contacts receive anything from us is when you use Faceified to request a review from them. We never sell your contacts to other people, period.

Please see my previous response vis-à-vis importing reviews from other services.

Thanks again for your questions and please keep the feedback coming.

  8. Daniela says:

I agree with Robin that the real value of this service would be if it could merge the different reviews from different sites. I have the same dilemma with having reviews all over the place on LinkedIn, Zillow, Yelp etc. and don’t want to constantly bother my clients by requesting that they post their testimonial on yet another site. Since there is an approve/disapprove feature that should take care of the quality of the testimonials and if there was an attribution to which service/site it came from we could just tell clients to post on the site that they feel most comfortable with and the attribution could serve as Facefied’s disclaimer. Good step in the right direction though helping to simplify the online review/recommendations juggle out there.

  9. Sounds Good I will see how it works.

  10. Ritu Desai says:

Sorry, I am with Daniela & Robin. I don’t want to bother especially by “A” list client to cut and paste reviews on various sites. It would be nice if you can merge them from various site.

  11. Manyu says:

@ritu @daniela @robin manyu at Faceified here – we heard you and soon we will have what we think will make you want to go Faceified. Stay tuned…

  12. Manyu says:

We have launched the review importer! You can now import all your existing reviews from all over the web to have them all in one place on Faceified. Then get your Faceified Seal to leverage your reputation to help you promote your brand & capture more leads on Craigslist & other classifieds!

  13. Mitch Byrne says:

Chris, thanks for telling me about faceified during your recent trip to Chicago. I have been using it & have added the badge to website & email. Working on compiling reviews now!

  14. Zadoc says:

I think this is a good idea, but I use http://www.craigrep.com, which is a lot simpler.

  15. Doug Francis says:

Great idea. I just signed up and connected my “IncredibleAgents” reviews. These peer reviews are essential.

But why don’t reviews from LinkedIn show up? I thought they were accessible to the public but I just noticed they aren’t.

I added the LinkedIn URL link to Faceified but I am not sure if the reviews will show up. Anyone?

  16. Did faceified.com go out of business? I can’t get the site to load & they don’t rank for their own name anymore…

What do you think?
