Old Technology, free yes. It will only go to the Team Leads site. With RE/MAX all you need to do is put in your website (agents or team) then a /MLS Number. You automatically go to a mobile or a computer optimized web listing.

This is awesome! I love how easy it is too. However, I haven’t found many people scanning my QR codes on my yard signs like they are texting for property information and am wondering if QR codes are just industry hype. I will still use them however many agents I talk to share the same experience. I came across a post comment just recently that has me rethinking them. But nice job 🙂

    Post about QR Codes:

    1) They require smartphones which are only 1/3 of all U.S. phone in the market. Meaning the majority of people will not see your listing

    2) QR Codes have a consumer reach of only 40M. Texting, however, has over 5x the consumer reach at 230M and works on all phones.

    3) They CAN’T capture call back numbers on engagement. What good is it to know someone visited your listing via a QR code and not be able to follow up.

    4) Third Party QR App readers usually feature ads that compete for attention with your landing page. Meaning the user experience is not accurately measurable and weakened.

    5) CNN News even says “they are NOT catching on”:

    6) Unlike texting shortcodes “MLS123” QR codes are NOT memorable and require that you have the code present to engage it.

    7) Smartphone growth does NOT equal growth in QR code usage. Archrival Research discovered this about college students (hint, we’re talking about the tech generation):

81% of students owned a smartphone
80% of students had previously seen a QR code
21% of students successfully scanned our QR code example.
75% of students said they are “Not Likely” to scan a QR code in the future.

Another great tip – thank you. I’m no longer a member of the realtors, so I cannot use it, but it looks good. I might use it, but what happens to the visitor after seeing your webpage – do they get taken to other listings from my mls or the nar page or ?

I kind of prefer to have my qr codes (and my websites) to be under my control.

Also agree with some of what Sherena says about texting – people love our Text Retriever service. What is better than getting a text with a potential buyers’ name and cell phone number when they are outside one of your listings?

this looks simple compared to the steps I’m taking to get a similar thing done. I am finding it hard to find a printer with the right waterproof paper and adhesive to attach it to my sign rider. ANY ADVICE???

Pretty slick. Not sure if QR codes are going to catch on here like they have in Europe but what the heck, another free tool to market yourself can’t hurt.

Very limited. I want to provide links to videos. Looking elsewhere…paying a few bucks per month for a better functioning site will be well worth it.

Poor executions are the main reason QR Codes won’t catch on…plus they’re too much fun to laugh at:

  17. Billy May 31, 2012 at 10:18 pm - Reply

The only reason why QR codes haven’t caught on is because they aren’t being utilized the correct way. People in general don’t know what QR Codes are.

    The problem:
    1. No one knows what a QR Code is.
    2. No one knows you have to download a QR reader or Scanner
    3. Even if you know what a QR Code is and if you have a Scanner, there is simply little value add. Why? Because the information isn’t stored anywhere for you.

I use a FREE mobile app called ConnectToMe. It gives you your very own QR Code, a scanner is built into the app to read the QR Code, and it stores contact information after you scan it. It is way more useful than whatever this is.
